How COD (will-call) oil delivery works
- Check today's price for your ZIP. It follows the wholesale price and changes every business day.
- Order online in about 2 minutes or call us. Choose your gallons or "fill my tank."
- We deliver, usually within a day or two, depending on the time ordered and the weather.
- Pay for what you get. Cash to the driver at the cash price, or by card at the posted price: online (your card is authorized when you order and charged after delivery for the gallons delivered) or over the phone.
Ways to keep your COD price low
- Pay cash: save 20¢ on every gallon compared with our posted card price.
- Order more at once: the price per gallon drops as the delivery gets bigger. Deliveries under 100 gallons cost more per gallon.
- Don't wait until you're empty: ordering around 1/4 tank avoids a runout and a no-heat service call. How to read your tank gauge.
- Get price-drop emails (opt-in) from the sign-up box on our heating oil prices page.
COD vs. automatic delivery
COD (will-call) is for homeowners who like to watch their own tank and shop the daily price. Automatic delivery costs a little more per gallon, but we track the weather and your usage and deliver before you run low, and automatic customers are served first in cold snaps. Not sure? COD heating oil questions
What does COD heating oil mean?
COD means "cash on delivery." You order heating oil only when you need it, with no contract and no automatic schedule, and pay when it's delivered. It's also called will-call delivery. With us you can pay the driver cash, or pay by card online or over the phone.
How much is COD heating oil today?
Our price changes every business day with the wholesale market. Enter your ZIP code on this page to see today's price per gallon for every order size, or call 631-264-8800. Paying cash saves 20¢ a gallon off our posted card price.
What is the minimum COD oil delivery?
25 gallons. Small deliveries cost more per gallon, so most homes with a 275-gallon tank order 150 gallons or more, or choose "fill my tank."
Is there a contract for COD oil delivery?
No. There is no contract, no sign-up fee and no commitment. Order when you want oil.
How do I pay for COD heating oil?
Pay the driver cash at delivery to get the cash price, or pay by credit, debit or prepaid card at the posted price: online when you order, or over the phone. Drivers take cash only, not cards, and we don't accept checks. Online, your card is authorized when you order and charged only after delivery. With "fill my tank," you only pay for the gallons actually delivered.
How fast is COD oil delivery?
Most orders are delivered within a day or two, depending on the time ordered and the weather. If you are completely out of oil, call us right away.
Is COD oil cheaper than automatic delivery?
Will-call (COD) is our everyday low-price option. Automatic delivery costs a little more per gallon because we watch your usage and the weather and deliver before you run low. See our guide comparing the two.
Do you accept HEAP with COD delivery?
Yes, we accept HEAP. Call 631-264-8800 to confirm your benefit before you order.
